tiltable rudder propellers

This is a Hydraulic Rudder Propeller, which is also tiltable.
The hydraulic motor is inside the lower bulb housing, and is directly connected to the propeller shaft.
These are made of steel, and are fairly simple build, no driving gears sets and only a few bearings inside, for easy repair and very little maintenance.
A hydraulic cylinder inside the mounting frame is mounted for the tilting function, and another hydraulic cylinder is mounted inside the colum, for the height adjustment.
All pipes etc. are inside the thruster and are not in contact with the water.
The rudder propeller has a free tilting system, so the thruster will tilt automatically when any collision, also the propeller will stop immediately
The bulb is the heart of the thruster and is simple to dismantle from the thruster
Steering is 180 degrees. done by a hydraulic cylinder inside the top of the frame.
Because the propeller is hydraulic powered, we also have forward and reverse, so also covering the 360 degrees steering.

The advantages of a tiltable system

  • Easy to maintain. Dirt or rope in the propeller? Damage? Because you can tilt the propeller, you do not need the services of a diver or dockyard. This saves you a lot of time and money.
  • Easy to operate. The propeller is tilted easy mechanical or hydraulic, with the press of a button.
  • Secure with sheer pin system. If you hit something, then the safety pins will break and the propeller will automatically tilt upwards, the bigger units even have a free tilting system, incl. propeller stop, to prevents any damage by collision under water.
